Javan Rhino Expedition

An intrepid expedition into the heart of one of the most remote jungles on our planet, in search of the elusive and highly endangered Javan Rhino. Trek through dense Rainforests in Ujung Kulon National Park and soak up the amazing culture of the Indonesian people in this 7 day adventure.




Day 1 (Thursday, 6th September 2018): The Expeditions Company Lodge “Breakfast” and briefing pre departure From OT International
We will all meet at this location for Breakfast, and orientation. Transfer by TEC team to OT International.

Day 2 (Friday, 7th September 2018): Jakarta – Labuan - Sumur.
Meet and greet you in Wisma PGI jl.Teuku Umar 17 MentengJakarta at 09:00 am (021.31907640 – 3), drive up to SumurVillage as the gate of Ujung Kulon National Park. Duration approximately 5 hours, Lunch enrute. Then boarding on boat that will take us to HANDEUEUM Island by boat, it will take 1 hour, arrive at Handeuleum island, meet park ranger check in at park lodge then boat trip to Ujung Kulon Peninsula, Canoe trip up CIGENTER river are somewhat influenced by tides and trees across the river, the CIGENTER’s waters meander through dense overhanging rain forest, the habitat of python and king fisher birds, where the crocodiles and rhinoceros may also be seen on rare occasion, make stop for short trekking to rhinoceros wallow, return to the canoe then going back to boat for HANDEULEUM Island, dinner and overnight.


Day 3 (Saturday, 8th September 2018): Handeuleum Island – Peucang island - Ciramea.(B,L,D)
After breakfast, at 07:30, leave Handeuleum Island to Peucang Island, it will take 2 hours by boat, arrive at Peucangisland, trekking to Karang Copong , the trail leads you to the northern point of Peucang Island, hundred years old trees with big root along the trail and animal are often to be seen such as deer, long-tailed macaque, javan wild pig, hornbill taucan and green peafowl, duration approximately 3 hours. Return to the boat for having lunch. After lunch at 14:30 short boat trip to Ujung kulon Peninsula (CIBOM) trekking to CIRAMEA, walk through the dense forest from Cibom to Ciramea beach (this sandy coast line is the egg-laying site for green turtles particularly between juneto September), along the way javan black monkey, hornbill taucan and giant squirrel are often be seen. Duration approximately 1,5 hours, arrive at Ciramea beach free program make camping site and photo hunting. Dinner and overnight on tent.

Day 4 (Sunday, 9th September 2018): Ciramea – Cibom – Peucang island (B,L,D)
After breakfast, at 08:00 trekking along the coastal to Tanjung Layar a historical site where two previous lighthouses and staff quarters were constructed in the 1800’s .Then, short trekking to CIBOM, where our boat is mooring and crossing to Peucang for lunch. After lunch, Free program – swimming and snorkeling around the Island. In the afternoon at 16:00 take boat to Ujung Kulon Peninsula (CIDAON), observe wild life at CIDAON grassing ground such as wild cattle, peafowl, javan wild pig, birds, etc , back to CIDAON beach having tea, coffee and pisang goreng. Return to PEUCANG island . Dinner and overnight at Park Lodge.


Day 5 (Monday, 10th September 2018): Peucang Island – Sumur – Jakarta (B,L,D).
Whole day on Peucang island.

Day 6 (Tuesday, 11th September 2018) ; Peucang island – Sumur – Jakarta (B,L)
After breakfast at 07:30 leave PEUCANG island by boat for SUMUR, stop at Badul island for snorkeling (subject to weather condition) lunch will be provided on the boat/Labuan.

After Dinner we return to Hotel

Day 7 (Wednesday, 12th September 2018)
Return to JHB…..or optional extension to Bali for 3 days.
